Sunday and Monday of Labor Day weekend marked my final days in California! 😦 But, per our usual routine, we had 2 amazing final days together!!
On Sunday, we drove into town and went to a farmer’s market and got drinks at Alfred Tea Room! (it is seriously soooo cute inside. wow.) Like I’ve said before, California knows how to do neon signs right!! Then we re-parked the car and wandered around the Melrose Trading Post! According to B, this happens every Sunday and this was another highlight of the trip for sure! There were so many odds and ends… clothing, furniture, knick knacks, beauty products, maps, woodworkings, fabrics, plants, textiles… you name it and it was probably there! We spent a good 2-3 hours roaming and shopping ❤ I’m so jealous and forever wishing I had access to something like that every week!! But I’d probably spend way too much money so maybe it’s a blessing in disguise 🙂 B and I did reallllyyyy enjoy checking out all of the furniture though and we were discussing future business ideas with event staging and rentals… so much fun!! ^^ Can’t tell you how freaking much I wanted to buy this Gucci sweatshirt for Conor but it was $100 so I had to pass… lol. ^^^^ I did, however, buy one of these little hangers!! And an air plant to go inside 🙂 ^^
After our fun adventures that morning and afternoon, we just wanted a relaxing girls night. We walked down to the beach and then walked for quite a while down the boardwalk! The sky was crazy that night… these pictures absolutely do not do it justice but it was truly a tie-dye/whipsy clouds everywhere/400 shades of blue and purples kinda sky. We walked home after a bit and hung at Becca’s, created an abstract watercolor painting, floated around in her pool…. the usual E & B shenanigans ❤ The next day we luckily had the majority of the day together since my flight didn’t leave LAX until 10 PM! (Red eye… ugh… lol) We got breakfast in Manhattan beach and poked around the stores in that area, and then we drove around the streets of Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach… keep in mind all of these streets were lined with million dollar+++ homes. Needless to say, it was a lovely drive. The houses and architectural styles are so different that in the Midwest so it was pretty cool to see so many at once. B dropped me back at the airport that night and it was a hard goodbye as always ❤ Like I said, we do a good job of keeping our communication up throughout the weeks but there really isn’t anything like having your best friend in the same city ❤ or at least not halfway across the country lol. Oh well… one day we will be in the same city again and for now I will just look forward to when that happens 🙂
OK California is officially blogged! I am so stinkin far behind on my posts but better late than never, right??!! Thanks so much for reading! Boston will be hitting the blog next 🙂 Stay tuned! XO, Em
